Description

A popular P-bass with a nut width similar to that of a jazz bass!

One of the most influential bassists active in the contemporary Japanese music scene. Born in 1991, Hama Okamoto formed the band Zutto Zuretels in 2008. Since 2009, as a member of OKAMOTO'S, he has been actively producing albums and participating in overseas tours. He has achieved great success at numerous festivals and live events.

His playing style is said to be self-taught, but he has an exquisite sense of timing and expressive phrasing that sings eloquently, making him a talented player who is beyond the reach of most Japanese people. His skills were quickly recognized, and in 2013 he signed an endorsement contract with Fender. His signature model, which was released at the end of 2015, has now been re-released in a new Made in Japan specification.

Recent Japanese-made Fender models, such as the MIJ Traditional Series and MIJ Hybrid Series, have undergone major updates to their manufacturing process under the technical guidance and supervision of Chris Fleming, a former senior master builder at the Custom Shop.

This instrument is based on the 1968 Fender Precision Bass, which is the main instrument used by HAMA OKAMOTO. With the theme of "an easy-to-play Precision Bass that has never existed before," it features a jazz bass-style slim neck. In addition to vintage-style round paddle pegs and bridge cover, the finish is distinctive with its vibrantly colored basswood body and the so-called "red tortoiseshell" pickguard.

■Accessories: Soft case, official 2-year warranty
