Description

The standard model for new generation guitarists, AZ Premium SSH layout model.

The AZ Premium model uses a quilted maple body top/body color matching head/body binding/gold hardware to give a luxurious impression.

Ibanez believes that there is no basis for a guitar's ``good sound,'' and that it is the ``sound you want.'' We also believe that individual parts and designs are not independent, but that by synchronizing with each other, the sound character is defined, and as a result, we can obtain the sound we are looking for. In order to achieve the "sound" required by modern players, AZ has the guitar-making DNA that Ibanez has accumulated throughout its history. The Ibanez AZ series is a fusion of modernity and experience, a new standard created by time and the times.

Original hardware, a well-thought-out setup, a neck grip designed for high-quality playing comfort, and spherical fret edges. All are standard specifications of the Premium series, where Ibanez's commitment and craftsmanship resides.

■Quilted Maple top / American Basswood body

The top of the body is made of quilted maple with beautiful grains, and the body is made of American basswood.

■AZ Oval C Roasted Maple neck

Heat-treated maple wood is used for the neck material.

By applying heat treatment, you can expect properties such as shape stability, durability against warping, water resistance, and resistance to temperature changes. After testing and testing several different neck thicknesses, we concluded that 20.5*22.5 (at 1F*12F) is the best neck thickness.

The back of the neck is finished with a satin finish, providing a smooth playing feel.

■Roasted Maple fretboard w/Jumbo Stainless Frets

With the aim of ensuring that the sound does not become clogged even when bending with a large amplitude, and that stress is not felt on the fingers and hands when working with chords, we have worked through multiple trials and errors to create several types of prototypes that address multiple challenges, such as the combination with the neck. This is the 305mmR fingerboard that we arrived at.

The fingerboard is made of heat-treated maple.

The frets are made of Hv220 stainless steel with a crown height of 1.4mm/width of 2.7mm. It is easy to maintain, has a quick start-up, provides good separation when playing chords, and produces clear sound even when playing notes.

The jumbo size allows you to press the strings with a light touch, allowing you to play fast passages and make smooth bends.

■Seymour Duncan Hyperion Pickups

We obtained over a dozen types of pickups and measured the frequency characteristics of all of them. From this, we determined the specifications and sound image of the pickup that is considered optimal for AZ, and created it in collaboration with Seymour Duncan, a company synonymous with pickup brands that has a long history and continues to pursue new initiatives. This is an AZ exclusive pickup. In order to retain some of the cleanliness of the original sound even when distorted, the output was slightly suppressed, and the design focused on picking tracking and reproducibility. From treble to bass, and how the 1st to 6th strings sound, we focused on the total balance, and also pursued a good effect ride. All magnets use Alnico-5.

■dyna-MIX 9 switching system w/Alter switch

You can freely switch between humbucker and single coil modes with a single flip of the mini switch, ensuring a wide variety of sound variations. This is a switching system for modern guitar players who must play multiple roles with limited equipment.

●Alter switch

SSH model...Neck and center single coils are wired in series to simulate a 22F neck humbucker sound.

■Gotoh T1502 tremolo bridge

The Gotoh 510 bridge, which has been praised by many players and brands as the definitive tremolo bridge, has been reborn in collaboration with Ibanez and Gotoh®.

It uses a machined steel saddle and zinc die-cast inertia block to achieve a good start-up and tight sound, and is also characterized by a good sense of sound separation during chord work.

With a narrow spacing design of 10.5mm between strings, we have pursued the ease of picking across strings required by players who frequently use skipping and hybrid picking.

In addition, we have adopted an arm socket that can be used with the Ibanez Edge tremolo arm and the Ultra Light Tremolo Arm (carbon/UTA20/sold separately). The arm can be attached with a snap-in without having to be rotated like a conventional arm. It is also equipped with an arm torque adjustment mechanism that allows the arm angle to be fixed or opened according to the player's preference. In addition, a stud lock mechanism is also included as standard, which greatly contributes to tuning stability and resonance by firmly fixing the instrument with a set screw embedded in the stud.

Adopts 2-point floating support that allows smooth arming and arm-up.

■An ergonomic body back contour

It has an original body shape that aims for a contemporary design.

The thin body contour and large elbow contour create a sense of unity between the player and the guitar, greatly contributing to improved playability. In addition, the deep constriction of the body makes it easy to handle when held or on stage, and provides high playability. The radius of the corners on the front and back of the body is different, resulting in an ergonomic design that allows you to feel the fit the moment you hold the guitar, regardless of whether you're sitting or standing.

■Super All Access Neck Joint

This is a "Super All Access" neck joint that achieves high playability by carving a step from the back of the body with a height difference of 8 mm and finishing the joint with the neck with a spherical surface.

The cutaway on the bass string side is designed to be shallow, and by maximizing the area between the body and neck, it maintains high playability while also achieving both good sustain and resonance.

■Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads

In pursuit of convenience when changing strings, we have adopted the Gotoh MG-T locking machine head, which has a reputation for tuning stability.

The structure allows you to easily lock the strings passed through the post holes by turning the dial with your finger.

■Graph Tech nut

Uses a Graph Tech nut that boasts smooth tuning stability. It has both clear sound and good sustain.
