Description

The flagship RD stage piano with two independent sound engines, two V-Piano Expansions, premium action, and the latest controller.

The RD-2000 EX combines Roland's best piano technology with a wealth of the latest creative tools to deliver the ultimate RD experience. This powerful and creative stage piano features two independent sound engines, two V-Piano Expansions, premium playability, and advanced controller functions to deliver the highest performance on stage.

Unparalleled RD performance

The RD-2000 EX is the pinnacle of Roland's RD series of stage pianos, and we have poured our 50 years of piano development know-how into it without compromise to make it the perfect stage piano for modern performances. Two independent sound engines produce high-quality sound, and the refined hammer-action keyboard provides unparalleled playability. The high-performance controller allows you to intuitively and practically manipulate the sound, and you can also organically combine software and hardware synths.

Outstanding expressiveness with V-Piano technology

RD-2000 EX is equipped with V-Piano technology, which can reproduce the complex sound and interactive atmosphere of an acoustic piano in detail. The high-speed DSP solves the system problems of sample-based music, such as sound quality, memory, and polyphony limitations, and achieves natural response and infinitely rich expressiveness with full polyphony. It comes with a wide variety of ready-to-play presets, which you can further refine as needed. You can also use Piano Designer to individually adjust the tuning of each scale and edit the details of the tone to your liking, creating original pianos that would not be possible in the real world.

Two types of V-Piano Expansion pre-installed

In addition to the core V-Piano, the RD-2000 EX comes with two types of V-Piano Expansion pre-installed. This will further expand your range of expression. Ideal for both solo and ensemble piano playing, the German Concert expansion offers a variety of piano sounds inspired by famous concert-class grand pianos. The newly developed Essential Upright expansion also expresses the tone and airiness unique to high-end upright pianos, allowing you to enjoy a more intimate and rich sound.

SuperNATURAL Electric Pianos

The RD-2000 EX offers a wide range of iconic electric pianos equipped with the highly acclaimed SuperNATURAL engine. It also fully reproduces the RD-1000, the first model of the RD series released in 1986, and the MKS-20, a classic sound module used in countless hit songs since the mid-1980s. In addition, vintage effects that faithfully reproduce the BOSS CE-1 Chorus and Roland SDD-320 Dimension D bring a classic taste to the sound.

Sounds for all musical genres

In addition to the excellent piano sounds, the RD-2000 EX comes with over 1100 diverse SuperNATURAL sounds for all genres. The Virtual ToneWheel Organ, derived from the VK series, features a realistic rotary effect and allows intuitive harmonic bar control using sliders. It also covers electronic sounds with synth tones ranging from vintage to modern. It can handle clavis, harpsichords, and other keyboard instruments, orchestral sounds with strings and brass, world sounds such as ethnic instruments, and many other styles.

Endless possibilities

Roland's tone download site Axial has released the genuine RD sound library that can be loaded into the RD-2000 EX's two expansion slots. The RD-2000 EX is equipped with versatile and excellent controller functions, making it ideal as the pillar of a large-scale setup. Equipped with knobs and sliders that are easy to operate, and LED indicators allow you to adjust parameters quickly and accurately. The ZONE setting allows you to assign different sounds to different key ranges or create layered sounds by layering multiple sounds. The SCENE function allows you to save the entire RD-2000 settings, including KEY TOUCH and pedal settings, as a snapshot. Of course, saved settings can be instantly recalled while playing. Seamless software integration The RD-2000 EX is equipped with a USB audio/MIDI interface and supports control from Apple MainStage. You can control virtual instruments and studio tracks with the built-in RD sound. The audio interface supports high-quality audio output up to 192kHz / 24bit.

Flexible connectivity

With its versatile inputs and outputs, the RD-2000 EX is suitable for a variety of performances. The main stereo out is equipped with XLR and 1/4 inch jacks, allowing you to freely use it for balanced output to PA and for monitoring. It also has an assignable SUB OUT, allowing you to route the internal sound of the main unit and the USB audio source separately. In addition to the USB audio / MIDI interface, it also has a conventional MIDI terminal.

High-quality touch and feeling

The RD-2000 EX realizes the highest level of playability as a stage piano, allowing you to experience the joy of playing. The PHA-50 keyboard with progressive hammer action and escapement, and advanced sensor mechanism, can express all the nuances of acoustic and electric pianos without leaving anything out. The innovative hybrid key structure, made of a combination of wood and molded material, combines a delicate feel with the durability required for hard playing, allowing you to use it for many years even in tough live performances.

Upgrade the RD-2000

By purchasing the RD-2000 EX Upgrade from Roland Cloud, you can upgrade your original RD-2000 to the same specifications as the RD-2000 EX by importing the German Concert and Essential Upright V-Piano Expansion.
