Description

[Technics' new challenge. A turntable that pursues the sound of true analog records, incorporating the latest direct drive technology]

●Newly developed coreless direct drive motor that achieves stable rotation

The newly developed coreless direct drive motor uses a coreless stator that eliminates the core from the coils that make up the motor. Since no attractive force is generated between the core and the magnet, the magnetic force does not become uneven, theoretically eliminating the occurrence of cogging. Compared to the conventional SL-1200MK6, it has achieved approximately twice the high torque and reduced bearing load. Furthermore, the clearance of the shaft and bearing part, which is the rotating axis, has been narrowed to the same level or lower than that of SP-10MK2 to thoroughly reduce minute vibrations during rotation. In addition, by using oil-impregnated bearings, high performance can be maintained over a long period of time. In addition to excellent performance, it is maintenance-free and reliable for long-term use.

●High-precision motor control to achieve optimal rotational conditions

The latest motor control technology cultivated through the development of Blu-ray disc devices is applied to the rotation control of the motor that verifies and corrects rotational accuracy, achieving strong torque and high stability through precise switching according to operating conditions. Did. Compared to the motor control of the SL-1200MK6, the precision of the reference clock has been increased approximately three times, and in conjunction with accurate rotational position detection, more accurate rotation control is now possible.

●Magnesium tone arm that traces the board surface with high precision

The tone arm, which follows the rotation of the record and enables highly accurate signal reading, inherits the static balance universal S-shaped tone arm traditionally used by Technics. The SL-1200G uses magnesium, which is lighter and has higher damping characteristics, as the tone arm pipe material. By performing cold drawing processing, we have achieved further improvement in material properties and high dimensional accuracy.

●Gimbal suspension that stably supports the tonearm without hindering its movement.

The tone arm is supported using Technics' traditional gimbal suspension structure, where the axes of the horizontal and vertical rotation axes intersect at a single point. The tone arm bearing uses a high-precision bearing using a machined housing. Accurately trace the grooves carved into the record.

●Comes with auxiliary weights that can accommodate various cartridges.

Enjoying the difference in sound by changing cartridges depending on the music genre or mood is the fun that can only be found in analog playback. SL-1200G comes with two types of auxiliary weights. By adding it to the balance weight that supports cartridge masses of 5.6 to 12 g, it is possible to support cartridges with a small auxiliary weight of 10 to 16.4 g and a large auxiliary weight of 14.3 to 19.8 g. Compatible with more cartridges. *Does not include attached head shell

●Tone arm height adjustment mechanism to precisely adjust the height to the surface of the board

The SL-1200G allows tone arm height adjustment of up to 6mm depending on changes to the cartridge or turntable seat. The base part of the tone arm is made of highly hard brass, and has 6 sets of screw grooves carved into it for adjustment. The tone arm is supported by six grooves, allowing for highly accurate height adjustment.

- Machined brass PHONO terminal for high-purity signal transmission

The inside of the output terminal case at the bottom of the tone arm uses a metal shield structure to prevent the effects of external noise. The PHONO output terminal and PHONO ground terminal are made of machined brass and gold-plated. In addition, the AC input terminal is a removable inlet type, and the power cord can be upgraded.

-Four-layer housing with vibration resistance and high rigidity

With analog turntables, even the slightest vibration transmitted from the outside becomes noise and can muddy the playback sound. Therefore, when designing the housing of an analog turntable, it is of utmost importance to achieve a high level of vibration resistance and high rigidity. In addition to the 3-layer structure of the heavy rubber base, BMC (bulk molding compound) chassis, and aluminum die-cast chassis adopted by the conventional SL-1200MK6, the SL-1200G has a 10mm thick aluminum top panel. Adopts a layered structure to ensure high rigidity.

●10mm thick aluminum top panel with high rigidity and high quality finish

The aluminum top panel contributes to improved vibration resistance and high rigidity. In addition, each piece of solid aluminum is machined to give it a hairline finish. Not only does it improve the performance of the case, but it also has a high-quality finish that will make you fall in love with it the more you use it.

●Highly damped silicone insulator that blocks external vibrations

The SL-1200G uses special silicone rubber that combines high vibration damping properties and long-term reliability. Reinforced with a cylindrical tube made of microcellular polymer to absorb lateral vibrations. In addition, the insulator mounting part is equipped with a screw-type horizontal adjustment mechanism. Eliminates the rattling that occurs when a turntable is installed in a rack, etc., and prevents unnecessary vibrations. Furthermore, by precisely adjusting the levelness of the platter and disc surface using the horizontal adjustment mechanism, uneven rotation due to tilt is eliminated, allowing for more stable record playback.
