Yamamoto Sound Craft Wooden Head Shell HS-3 HS3 genuine product Brand NEW
Description
HS-3 is a new type of headshell made of boxwood, a rare and excellent material
Boxwood is a very high quality wood that was used for combs and seals in the old days. It has a specific gravity of about 0.75, which is a little heavier than cherry wood, but the grain of the wood is very fine and uniform, and its grain is so fine that it cannot be seen by the naked eye, which is superior to African ebony.
The wood is also strong and has the strength and elasticity to withstand precision processing such as combs and seals without chipping. It was actually used for the plectrum of the shamisen.
(Recently, the material has become scarce and is even rarer than ebony.
We have tried using it for headshells with good results, so we have made it into a product.
Boxwood is lighter than ebony, but in terms of the relationship between its weight and strength, it is characterized by its high strength for its lightness.
In order to make it relatively light, the same design as HS-1A was used, and the finished weight is 8.2g, which is quite light.
In general, the lighter the weight of a tone arm including the cartridge and headshell, the higher the sensitivity of the operation, and we recommend using the HS-3 as a light vibration system to take advantage of its lightness.
The exterior is treated with clear eco-friendly paint and then laser-engraved with the product name in a form similar to that of the original material.
Its slightly yellowish appearance has a unique dignity. The finger rest is made of gold-plated brass.
Since the wood itself does not emit inherent resonance sound, there is almost no squeaking of the finger rest, which is a problem with metal shells.
Material: Body: boxwood (clear eco-friendly paint finish)
Finger rest: Brass (non-magnetic gold-plated finish)
External dimensions: 18(W) 50(L) 18(H), excluding the mounting and finger-holder part
Weight: 8.2g (including lead wire, not including mounting screw)
Accessories: Standard 4-color shell leads included, 3 types of gold-plated brass mounting screws included

from 19 reviewsVery quick mailing/delivery … packaged very thoroughly with abundance of bubble wrap 👍 the item in pristine condition… very easy and professional transaction… all the way from Japan even! Would definitely do business with them again.
Have done some test, love Takatsuki and also very responsive and trusted seller! Already bought 4 300b's of them and tested well with my RoeTest v11 professional tube Tester!
I bought this guitar and I am very happy with it. It had to travel half of the globe, but the shipping was fast and the seller answered all my questions via e-mail.
The guitar itself has a chunky Fretboard, but is playable with ease. As far I can tell, the electronics seem to be all good, stamp on the pickup is right, it needs more playing for further statements.
And to my biggest surprise: the guitar came almost perfectly intonated fresh out of box.
I highly recommend to at least get in touch with the seller if you're interested in one of his products.
